Quote of the Week

"First up was Aethia who stood in the middle of the goal, trying to predict the shot. The five members of Team Faerieland all lined up, each holding a different Yooyu. Each of them drew their racquets back, as if getting ready to shoot their Yooyu. Suddenly, Delma shot her Fire Yooyu and Aethia jumped, only for it to sail right through her legs."

Tangible Evidence that Coltzan is the Greatest King

While there are many sad tales in the history of Neopia, Coltzan’s story is one of true heartbreak. Even though he was poisoned at a banquet in his own palace (more on that later), Coltzan still brings great comfort and joy to all of Neopia. The great king once said, “I shall cower before no evil, and defend the virtue of my people against all enemies. Regardless of the outcome, at least I know that I have fought for a most noble cause." Now that’s a leader I want to root for. That’s a king I can see myself going to battle for! While he died many, many years ago, we still remember him daily. Coltzan’s Shrine is a must-see anytime you’re in the Lost Desert! But alas, we’re here to talk about the things we can see, hold close, and treasure - the items that remind us of his reign and power. In this article, we’ll be diving into those, but first, some back story. Who is Coltzan? Many years ago, a great king named Coltzan III ruled over the Lost Desert. He was a beloved king, both stern and mighty yet also kind and full of wisdom. He had two loving daughters, Amira and Vyssa, who were both in line for the throne. Coltzan held a banquet in his palace, celebrating the defeat of Dr. Sloth, and invited multiple politicians to the great feast. Unfortunately, Coltzan was poisoned during the meal and fell to an untimely demise. While the culprit, Princess Sankara, was eventually caught, many citizens of Sakhmet were devastated by the loss. His youngest daughter, Vyssa, built an obelisk right outside the city in memoriam of her father. While the obelisk, known to us as Coltzan’s Shrine, is one of the primary ways we remember the fallen king, there are a number of other ways to honor him, including many items to collect and share! So without further ado, here it is: tangible evidence that Coltzan will forever and always be the greatest king.

When Life Gives You Tigerbuggles… Make Tigerade!

The Month of Swimming brings with it the blazing sun, matches of Mynci Beach Volleyball, and an endless craving to stay cool and hydrated. Whether you are lounging on the sandy beaches of Mystery Island or enjoying a breezy picnic on the grassy hills of Meridell, there is no better companion than a chilled, fruity drink. Luckily, Neopia is bursting with tropical treasures just waiting to be juiced or squeezed into something sensational. While classic lemonade has earned its place in the spotlight, there is no need to stop there! From treetop Tigerbuggles to juicy Juppies, Neopia offers a drink for every kind of tastebud. If you are already thirsty, don’t worry. Keep reading to the very end of this article for a simple recipe on how to make your very own glass of Tigerade, perfect for sipping under the summer sun. Tigerade Someone once said, “When life gives you Tigerbuggles, make Tigerade.” I think they were onto something! Tigerbuggles are bold, bright, and beautifully striped fruits that grow exclusively at the tops of Neopia’s tallest trees. Harvesting them is no easy task. Tigerbuggle gatherers often rely on sturdy Krawk Climbing Ropes or even enlist the help of friendly flying Petpets just to reach a single branch. However, one bite makes the effort worth it. With a tangy citrus kick and just a hint of sweetness, Tigerbuggles are bursting with flavour. Their swirling rinds release a fragrant, energizing aroma, making them an ideal choice for a refreshing summer drink. Chokatoade While this versatile veggie is known to be a key ingredient in tasty dishes like Cheesy Chokato Pie, Chokato Cream Cheese Dip, and Chokato Trifle, did you know it can also be squeezed to make a refreshing drink? When juiced into Chokatoade, you end up with a rich, velvety drink with hints of both cocoa and tang. Though it may sound strange...

How I Went from Novice to a Master of Sutek's Tomb

Sutek's Tomb is probably one of the classic and most popular flash games on Neopets. I used to be amazed by the extremely high scores on the high score table, thinking that it was impossible, and Sutek's Tomb might be a trophy that I wouldn't be able to achieve. If I saw an article with such a title, I’d think it was just made to be eye-catching – like what you may be thinking right now. However, I swear that this is 100% true. I literally went from only being able to score 2k to 3k, 6k, 8k, 9k, and then all the way to 39k in less than two hours, or technically, in six attempts. Hang on… can you really call yourself a master by just scoring 39k? That’s just enough to get a silver trophy in the middle of the month. Oh, right, so I upgraded my trophy to gold the next day with a score of 81k in a single attempt (which I decided to stop just because the game is too long) If this sounds convincing enough, keep reading and I’ll tell you what may not be mentioned in other guides but are game changers to me.

"Think Of You From Time To Time" by nick_and_nickette
Many decades ago in Moltara lived a family, the Trevors. They were a large family of inventors, the youngest of them a magma Kougra, named Lindsey - who was also the black Babaa of the family. The rowdy teenager was expected to be an engineering prodigy, like the rest of her siblings, but she preferred exploring the caves on her own and collecting glowing worms. At first, her ventures were fun, but as she grew older, they brought her more and more trouble, especially with her strict father. Her mother spoke ill of her to the rest of the family, even in her presence. Needless to say, Lindsey's mind slowly filled with resentment for them - but ironically she still cared about their well-being... Isn't family supposed to love you, no matter what? Unfortunately, that's not always the case... Lindsey learned the hard way after the day she turned 18 - she was kicked out of the house. The young woman, brilliant, but not in the way her folks expected, strived to survive on her own. She made her home in the caves she roamed, and grew more...

"Abharī and the Virtue of Patients" by peirigill
“Hurry up, Abharī! You’re going to miss your turn at sword practice!” “Just a sec,” replied the Hissi, as he deftly padded a Finger Splint with some Healing Gauze Pads on the Mutant Chomby towering over him. This always seemed to happen: Abharī had been interning at the Hospital for years, working towards his dream of becoming a full-fledged physician someday, so he was always pressed into service as a medic at sporting events. Performing first aid while wearing armour isn’t optimal, but his feathered fingers were experienced and nimble, and soon his Chomby patient was all patched up. Abharī retrieved his treasured Jeran Collector's Sword and sped towards the list field. I should make it just in time, he was thinking to himself. Then the shock wave hit. Abharī was thrown to the ground faster than his wings could break his fall. A moment of stunned silence was broken by the pealing of an all-too-familiar bell. Abharī recognised it from his many hours of emergency medical training as the tocsin of a Reserve Barracks. Something had happened...
